Ponty Town 1st team continued their pre-season with a 4-3 win over Porthcawl Athletic FC.
Ponty started the better side with two goals in quick succession. First a through ball to James Hill on the right saw a square ball into the box for Giovanni Senatore to score on 4 minutes.
Then James Hill made a goal for himself. After making a break down the left wing, he cut inside on his right foot and shot low into the bottom right corner.
Porthcawl then started to get into the game and got their reward on 27 mins when Joe McCarthy hit a shot across goal from 20 yards.

The second half saw a number of changes to the Ponty team which opened up the game. Porthcawl had the better of much of the half and equalised on 62 minutes. Then 8 minutes later Porthcawl got in front with their third goal.
Ponty dug deep and with 10 minutes to go introduced youth team player Owain Morgan for his first appearance in the 1st team.
On 85 minutes, some good play by Omar Abdillahi in the Porthcawl box saw Andrew Coleman pounce onto Omar’s backheeled ball and score from 12 yards.
On 90 minutes, Some good work from Owain Morgan down the left played Omar through into the box, some more near footwork from Omar to get away from defenders saw him pass across goal for Luke Lear to tap in at the far post.
Final result Pontypridd Town 4-3 Porthcawl Athletic
Another good runout for the squad and a good test of fitness.
